[ There's a young person on the screen of the first broadcast since the new batch arrived. Other older members have used the network for their own communication, of course, but this one has all the hallmarks of a freshfaced, uncomfortable but trying newbie. ]

Um... so, what are we supposed to do here? I had a job back home... and I know—once we're assigned we might have more to do, but as it is, I'm just...

[ Beat. Casey's face turns a little red. ]

Right, my name is Casey. Everything here is a little weird for me — from what I understand, nothing here is powered by magic? Ah, but I guess I might be the weird one. No one else has said anything. My point was, it feels a lot like coming into something halfway. Where do we start? Is this it?

Gardens are pretty relaxing, too.

[ Casey doesn't garden, but what humanoid doesn't have an appreciation for the labors of the earth? ]

So... there should be a few, if this is as big as they're saying.

Right. [He gives Casey a quick grin.] Shall we?

[dragonaught]

[ Casey shifts, tries to look a little more confident, and nods. ]

Yeah... sure. Um, you can lead the way.

[ They really weren't kidding when they said they hadn't gotten out much. ]

[That's okay. Tim's got them covered. He picks a direction, and they're off!]

I have to admit, most of the exploring I've done so far has centered around finding a way out, so I haven't been as attentive to the doors that don't lead to an exit. I'm still learning my way around.

[dragonaught]

[ Definitely better than Casey's got. They can make their way to food and back, at least? ]

Hear they let you aboveground if you have a sentinel with you. Have you tried that?

Not... yet. [He's more into asking forgiveness than permission, especially when he's been kidnapped.]

[dragonaught]

Might be worth playing along with it long enough.

[ It definitely affords an opportunity not otherwise present, if the exits are all guarded so well. ]

[Tim gives Casey a wry grin.] You get more flies with honey than with vinegar, right?

[dragonaught]

Flies with honey, path of least resistance, false sense of security... It all kind of leads the same place.

[ Not that it makes it easier, but hey. There isn't a whole lot of trust in the entire situation to be had. ]

[You're not wrong, Casey.]

Maybe I'll try that sometime. [grin] Maybe I'll get a sentinel that gets as stir-crazy as I do.

[dragonaught]

If they're smart at all, they'd try to find someone to keep you from being so suspicious, right?

[ It only makes sense. ]

Or maybe they just don't know as much as they want to...

I guess we'll find out, won't we?

[He pulls a door opened to peer through it, then opens it a little wider so that Casey can see, too. It's a smallish courtyard garden. Lots of flowers, with a few small paths running through.]

[ Casey's face lights up at seeing it. This will work, but more than that, they definitely missed the nature of the outdoors and not knowing how close real earth and plantlife and everything is only adds to their anxiety. ]

It's good. I like it.

[Tim is kind of curious how they managed to get something like this, considering the whole place is supposed to be underground, but that's probably a question for another day.

He smiles at Casey.]

Glad we found it, then.
