For those of you who don’t know me, my name is Evelyn Hunt. I am a Governor here at the Facility and despite the misgivings of some of my fellows, I believe in an honest and open leadership.

[A pause, some low and murmuring voices can be heard in the background before Evelyn speaks again.]

Some of you may be wondering as to the extended suspension of access to the city. The fact of the matter is that we received intelligence that the Trust has infiltrated the city. While we are verifying this claim, no Sentinel or Fatemarked is allowed to visit the city.

I trust my agents, and we've essentially been on lockdown, no one in or out.

[Which makes confirming the intel more difficult than she would like.]

So, just out of curiosity: if we're totally one-hundred-percent safe in here, and you're not letting us out into the city... What exactly is the point of the Sentinels?

Intelligence from whom, exactly? I assume you've verified the source of information.

[The CIA has nothing on DOSA, sir.]

I lost a good agent for this information, Mr. Metcalfe. Someone I trusted. However, as I said, we are still trying to verify it.

[His expression softens, but only by a fraction. He's lost people too, and Jack knows what goes with the territory of that kind of loss. Part of that is maintaining normal operations. Still:]

I'm sorry to hear that. But you'll have to forgive a little concern on my part. It's my job, somewhere. Something I'd be happy to help with, if you'd like, seeing as I can probably test out of most of your training courses.

[Someone let him protect people please.]

I appreciate your concern, not everyone here takes their job seriously. If you'd like to test our training courses, by all means, but as you are Fatemarked, do not expect to visit the city anytime soon.

[Honesty isn't always kind.]

[Jack almost grimaces - he doesn't appreciate his status being aired publicly, although there's basically squat he can do about it.]

I'll do that. In the meantime I can be of better use to you than just a house guest, even if you keep me indoors.

What, exactly, are you volunteering for?

[She's looking over his file now, skimming mostly, and ignoring the unhappy grumbles in the background.]

I'm assuming you know my background. [Please to be of not sharing that publicly at least.] You need more hands on deck and another set of eyes never hurts when you're dealing with highly secretive organizations. I know how these kinds of groups operate and even if you chain me to a desk that's one more person you can put in the field that I'd be replacing. If you want more specifics, I'd prefer to speak in private.

[She means Daniel, because both files are open and Evelyn is quite mystified as to why Jack is the Fatemarked.]

Very well. If you don't mind being stuck at a desk for the time being, we could certainly use your skills in base operations.

[He's just as mystified as you for why he's Fatemarked, Evelyn, but lay off his partner if you know what's good for you.

Jack visibly relaxes just a hair - finally he's going to get to do something that doesn't involve slides.]

[Jack takes a few seconds to read the directions - this place is still something of a maze to him - before nodding.]

[A low hum as Evelyn pulls up a file.]

Brigid...I understand that you have unique needs, but you are not the only one.

[Evelyn recalled a few others who had similar needs]

And until such a time as it is deemed safe, you will remain within the facility.

[ Meaning she's well aware that there's at least one other were-creature here. But that's not what's got her back up. ]

[She sighs, reminding herself that patience is a virtue.]

I might not be the Alpha you are familiar with, but I am an Alpha and if you'd like me to prove that, I'd be happy to.

[It wasn't as if she hadn't fought weres before.]

Alphas have no need to prove anything. They just are.

However, since you've no idea how my pack works, I will not laugh at you for that statement. Uncle Marcus did not turn me over to you. He did not designate you as his replacement here. Being that is true, you are not an Alpha I need to listen to.

Can we maybe get some information about the Trust? Who are they, what does it mean if they're in the city? If we can get out into the city, can't they... get in to us?

We are essentially on lockdown. Any agents on the outside are stuck there until we know more, just as we are all stuck in here.

...Okay, that didn't actually answer, oh. Any of my questions. Shouldn't we know more about this supposed threat to our lives? Wouldn't it make more sense to have all hands on deck, especially if some of us actually are kind of capable of defending ourselves?

Also, I'm sorry, but really? Your agents are just... stuck out there? With no back up? How do you even get agents if that's your protocol?
