[You know what this place needs? More red tape.
So here's Abigail, looking more like a put-together high school student than a working professional in her cardigan and cami set. Something about her just screams 'way too young to be handling important things' while at the same time insisting 'I am going to rat you out to someone important'.
You know the type. Someone smart. Someone ambitious. Someone who's young, scrappy, and hungry.
Someone who can really force a smile, like she's doing right now.]
Hello comrades, Sentinels, and inhabitants of the Fatemarked Facility. Abigail here. Some of you know me, some of you don't, but that's all right. You'll be seeing a lot more of me now that I'm permitted to use the network again. [That's not ominous or anything.]
[Slightly under her breath:] I swear, if anyone else quotes that stupid movie at me one more time...
[Kami may or may not have locked her out of the network with the Dennis Nedry "AH AH AH you didn't say the magic word AH AH AH" bug.
ANYWAY.]
My probation period is over, which means we - [She gestures between herself and the screen with the long end of her pen.] - can get right back to work. [Referring to her paper, she continues:] We have one pairing tonight: Molly Carpenter and Casey Ramone.
Heh. The Carpenters and The Ram- [Not now, Abby.] Nevermind.
Congratulations, Casey and Molly, on your new union. I'm sure you'll be very happy together.
In other news: whoever has been leaving their clothes in the hallway on level four, please report to the lower combat level to collect your possessions or they'll be recycled for training.
[She now starts reading as though the remainder isn't terribly important, letting the words run together or drag out in a display of boredom.]
No, we cannot import this specific brand of ouzo, please stop asking, it does not exist in this universe. Just because one person has a service dog does not mean you are allowed to bring animals into the facility, having feeder mice is not the same thing.
[Snapping her notebook closed, she looks up at the camera, and her broad, forced smile returns.]
Oh, and we need some new volunteers to donate blood on Fridays.

But, uh, I'm not so sure. I haven't been able to leave the facility yet, since I... didn't have a sentinel. Why don't we meet in one of the courtyards they have down here?
[ Casey, at least, feels much better with even a bit of nature surrounding them. ]

That sounds good. And maybe we can see about leaving this place, once we get a better idea of what's going on out there. I'm new here--do you have a favorite courtyard?

...Nowish? Or would later be better? My schedule's pretty open. [grin]

[Should we take this to our own thread?]

[ Probably should! My inbox is open or we can make a new post, etc. Your pick. ]
